This is version 2.0 of the rolling pin that made its debut at the Norsk Hostfest. That stunning rolling pin stopped shoppers who wanted to touch the ultra-smooth, ultra-mysterious maple barrel. And the coco bolo handles were the perfect contrast to this functional piece of art with enhanced rolling, thanks to food-safe stainless steel bearings. Jeff Luedloff of the Minnesota Woodturners Association created that pin which quickly sold, and he has found even an more mysterious spalted maple for the barrel to go with the coco bolo handles. That blonde spot on the barrel? It’s part of the salting process. The black lines create zones and the cellulose in the wood changes colors on each side of the lines.
