I enjoy speaking to groups who have a thing for lefse and lutefisk. Presentations are about 30 minutes and are on “Lefse, Lutefisk, and the Importance of Humor.” They include rolling lefse, celebrating the value of tradition, telling clean jokes (mostly), teaching stoic Scandinavians how to tell jokes, and crowd participation from kicking-and-screaming “volunteers” who hate telling jokes—but then succeed beyond their wildest dreams. We also sing lefse songs, including “Keep On Rollin’”, which premiered in my newest book, Keep On Rolling! Life on the Lefse Trail and Learning to Get a Round. “Keep On Rollin’” is an original song about lefse and tradition, music by Eric Sherburne and lyrics by me.
“Lefse and Lutefisk: Three Lessons” will be my topic when I speak at the Vonheim Lodge. I will also sell my books, lefse, and related products on this Saturday afternoon.
I return to the Vestland Lodge for an evening of dining, speaking, and selling my books, lefse, and related products. Come out for a fun night!
