For decades, I tolerated grin-and-bear-it potato ricers. They did the job but did nothing for me. But at long last, I have found a ricer I can rally behind: The OXO 3-in-1 Adjustable Potato Ricer.

I rice my boiled potatoes twice to do my best to rid the dough of little lumps that can cause tears in the lefse rounds as I roll. With this ricer, I set my screen so the holes are wide on the first pass and then rotate the screen on the second pass so the holes are small. Cool!

Pardon my going ga-ga about this OXO 3-in-1 Adjustable Potato Ricer, but you have to love making lefse to fully appreciate this tool. Squeezing the handles to push through your boiled potatoes and to improve your lefse will make you feel that squeezing never felt so good.
