Flashy Figured Maple and Walnut

Sometimes you can’t make a magnificent piece of spalted, highly figured maple even more breathtaking than it is … so you don’t bother. Sand it smooth, add a finish and add rich, dark walnut handles, and, voila, you have the rolling pin. A steel rod runs through the barrel of the pin into each handle, and bearings at each end of the barrel ensure a smooth roll.
