The Embraceable Yew and You

When you see and then feel this marvelous rolling pin, you’ll want to embrace it. You may even sing out in Gershwin with, “Just one look at you, my heart grew tipsy in me.” The barrel is English Yew, which is a beautiful wood that has been used for centuries to produce longbows, staves for wine barrels, tool handles and all types of turnery. Frequently found in ancient church yards in England, Yew is strong and durable. And alluring with its light caramel color, dark streaks and occasional small dark brown spots. Embracing the barrel are two dark chocolate walnut handles touched with Lindsey blue inlay. Mercy!! Enhanced rolling thanks to food-safe stainless steel bearings. Made by me, Gary Legwold of the Minnesota Woodturners Association.
